Profit Reporting
The Shopify profit tracker that builds your P&L down to net profit
StoreHero counts every cost against every order: product COGS, shipping, fulfilment, transaction fees, ad spend, staff and business costs. See your Shopify P&L by day, week or month, through gross margin and contribution margin to net profit, and get it by email or in Slack.
Profit Overview
Net sales → COGS → contribution margin → net profit, this month against target and last month.
Every order cost, from product COGS to transaction fees
Product costs sync from Shopify every day, or you set them for each product and variant. Set your product, packing, shipping, transaction and fulfilment costs once, and StoreHero applies them to every order. Shipping can match what customers pay, use a default or a rate per country, or come from ShipStation, ShipBob or Zapier.
- Product and variant costs synced from Shopify daily, with a default margin as a fallback
- Fulfilment and packaging per order and per extra item, or tiered by units
- Shopify Payments fees captured automatically; PayPal, Klarna and others at your rates

Profit on every Shopify order, not just every month
The Orders view shows the gross profit and margin of each order after tax, discounts, shipping, fulfilment, transaction fees and product costs. Filter to the orders that lose money, group them by country or order source, and save the view. In the example, a discounted order to Germany loses €4.10 once shipping is counted.
- Gross profit and margin on every order
- Filter loss-making orders and save the view
- Group by country, region or order source, such as POS or TikTok Shop
A net profit dashboard with gross margin, contribution margin and net profit
StoreHero's Finance view splits your P&L by day, week, month, quarter or year, shows each cost as a share of net sales, and compares it with the last period or last year. Contribution margin is what your orders made after marketing; net profit also takes off staff and operating costs. Export it as PDF or CSV for the team, the board or your accountant.
- Gross margin after product costs, contribution margin before and after marketing
- Net profit after staff and operating costs
- Day, week, month, quarter or year, against last period or last year
Staff, marketing and business costs, down to net profit
Ad spend syncs from Meta, Google Ads and TikTok. Add the costs ad platforms don't see: agency fees, influencers and email tools as marketing costs, your team by month or by person, and rent, software or insurance as business costs. Each can be one-time or recurring, with an end date, and you can import them by CSV or Zapier.
- Ad spend from Meta, Google Ads and TikTok, synced automatically
- One-time, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly costs, with end dates
- CSV import or Zapier, and up to four years of past staff costs
Business Costs
Each cost counts from its first payment date, so it lands in the right month's P&L.

Before and after
Shopify's profit reports stop at product costs. Net profit needs ad spend, fees and overheads too.
Shopify's profit reports leave out ad spend, third-party payment fees, staff and operating costs. Ad platforms report ROAS. The full P&L arrives from your accountant weeks after the month ends, when it is too late to change anything.
